What to Expect
On you first visit to Jorgensen Family Chiropractic you can expect to be greeted by friendly people who are very concerned for your health and wellbeing.  As an individual,
you will have needs and desires that are specific to your own background and living environment…no two people are exactly the same, and we will do all we can to address your personal concerns.
You will be given a small tour of our facilities so you may feel comfortable with the different aspects of Chiropractic care.  If your recovery requires some specific exercises be performed by you, the office has a room set aside for patient exercise.  Your consultation and Report of Findings will be conducted in a private room so your personal heath information is protected.

Like every other health care office, we will take care of the required paperwork so the government agencies and insurance companies are happy.  Nobody gets your personal information unless it is released by you in writing.  The patient information forms necessary for the first visit are available for you to print and complete at home, or you may do that on your first visit.  Please wear light and loose clothing for the examination visit (favorites are sweat pants and Tee shirt).  After reviewing your information, Dr. Jorgensen will spend some time getting additional verbal information from you during our Chiropractic Consultation.  If Chiropractic adjustment and lifestyle enhancements are appropriate for you, a thorough examination of your spine and extremity function will be performed, and information about that examination will be explained.  If X-ray views or other imaging is indicated, prescription for those services will be made for local suppliers.

After the appropriate information about your health, structure, and function is gathered, Dr. Jorgensen will review it all and present his Report of Findings on your next visit.  Your care and recovery plan will be discussed, specific exercises to strengthen and stabilize any soft tissue damage will be prescribed and demonstrated, and you spine and/or extremity problems will be adjusted.  Then the healing can begin.  Some patients need structural supports in the form of collars, belts, or orthotics for their shoes.  Others may need nutritional supplements or dietary advice to help provide the building blocks for your most efficient recovery.

Expect to get better soon.  Symptoms will begin to subside as the cause of your problems is corrected.  Healing takes place over time, as the body begins the process of regenerating damaged tissue, expelling foreign materials, and compensating for changes in structure and balance.  Don’t forget that the most important component in your recovery and subsequent long term health is YOU.  You need to avoid the activities that created your injuries.  You need to do the exercises to rehabilitate injured soft tissue.  You need to communicate with Dr. Jorgensen about changes in your condition and any concerns that develop, and for your future wellbeing, you will need to maintain your improvement after your recovery.
